Winter Weather Cancellations:
In the event of inclement weather, please tune in to Channel 69 News or call the church office at (610) 261-2910 for a recording of possible cancellations.
Secret State Auction:
SPY will be organizing and sponsoring a Secret State Auction to be held in May 2012. SPY members are mailing a letter to people they know from outside the state of Pennsylvania asking these people to donate an item (worth at least $15) which represents the state they live in - perhaps a sports team item, a non-perishable food item or an item such as a music cd, movie dvd or book with a famous person from that state.
The Secret State Auction will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2012. As we receive the packages people have donated to the auction, they will be tallied as to state but not opened. On the day of the auction, tickets will be placed in a can for each package. It will be a sort of a “grab-bag” approach neither you nor we will know what might be inside. The only thing that will give a hint is that the bidder will know what state the item was mailed from.
SPY members will also set up a lunch/snack counter the day of the auction.
Friends and members of St. Paul's and the surrounding community are all invited to attend this auction. It will be a fun time and all proceeds will help to fund those attending the National Youth Event in July. Look for information in upcoming newsletters.
Lenten Mid-Week Services:
The theme of this year’s Lenten Midweek Series is “Words that Last Forever!” based on Jesus’ Last Words from the Cross. Come and join others from area churches for this Wednesday Worship Series, at 7:30 pm. The offering will be designated for the Northampton Area Food Bank and socials will be offered at each church. Take note of the schedule:
- Feb. 29 – Holy Trinity Lutheran ( Main St.)
- March 7 – St. Paul’s UCC
- March 14 – Holy Trinity Slovak Lutheran ( Washington Ave.)
- March 21 – Grace UCC (9 TH & Lincoln)
